In-Person Schedule

We are starting the school year with both blended and remote learning options. That means that your child will be in school some days and working from home some days. If our county moves into a Level 4 Health Emergency, we will switch to 100% remote learning for all students. Check this page for updates.
  • Group A will be in school on Mondays and Tuesdays and working from home Thursdays and Fridays.
  • Group B will be in school on Thursdays and Fridays and working from home Mondays and Tuesdays.
  • Students in both Group A and B will alternate coming to school on Wednesdays.
  • We are taking every precaution to ensure that families with more than one student are assigned to the same group.
  • If you would prefer a 100% online learning schedule for your child this year, we are offering that as an option. Contact Lourdes Rodriguez at (718) 877-2961 to enroll.
  • The school day will run from 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Students may be dropped off no earlier than 8:25 and must be picked up promptly at the end of the school day

Communication to Parents and Families for the 2020-2021 School Year

Welcome to our beginning of the year COVID response page. Below you’ll find all the critical information about how our school is changing the way we operate to reduce the risk of COVID infection.
We are doing everything we can to make sure all staff, students, and families are safe.
Please check back regularly, as we will update the information here as conditions change.

Online Schedule

If you have chosen the remote learning option, students will be expected to adhere to the schedule set by the classroom teacher. Students will be asked to be present, on time and prepared for all remote learning interactions. Individual schedules will be distributed by the teacher at the beginning of the school year. We understand how difficult it might be to transition into this type of learning environment so we will be flexible and offer every support needed.
  • Teachers will provide the description of their daily flow and discuss the types of assignments the students will be asked to complete.
  • Students and families will be asked to check Google Classroom every day for important updates from their teachers.
  • Weekly remote learning assignments for the week will be posted to Google Classroom by the teacher. The teacher will use a combination of live, teacher paced lessons as well as student paced lessons.
  • All assignments must be completed and turned in by a specific date set by the teacher. Accommodations will be given to families.
  • All students are expected to sign into Virtual Home Room on a daily basis as per the schedule set by the teacher. You will be able to check Google Classroom for live sessions times.
  • You will be able to contact teachers by their emails, which can be found on the staff directory page of our website.

Free Meals

Grab-and-go meals will be available for breakfast and lunch each day, though students will also be permitted to bring their own lunch if preferred. Lunch will be in classrooms to minimize interaction between groups of students. Grab-and-go meals will be delivered to students in 3K to K classrooms, and pickup points within the school will be designated for grades 1-5.
Students who are not receiving in-person instruction on a given day can pick up a lunch from their home school or an identified school building near their home.
